Valencourt Holiday Cottage
Originally Valencourt Holiday Cottage was used as a grain store. Upstairs is where the corn was taken as well as feeding stuff for the animals on the farm. A hole in the floor allowed the corn to fall into the grinder and was cracked so the animals could digest it. The stone steps outside the holiday cottage originally led to the entrance of the upstairs rooms. In 1989, along with Boothferry and Corby Wood, it was converted to its present form as a holiday cottage.
Valencourt has its living area upstairs, with kitchen diner and lounge area. From the hall way an impressive open tread staircase leads to the lounge area, with separate kitchen diner. A fully fitted kitchen is equipped with a washing machine, refrigerator, microwave oven, kettle, toaster and crockery Cooking is by electric hob, with fan assisted oven.
Off the hallway are 2 single bedrooms, with bathroom and toilet. Also there is a double bedroom with en-suite. Heating is by electric night store, with wood burning stove in the lounge area, complete with a colour television. Spectacular views can be seen across the valley from bedrooms and kitchen diner. Bed linen and a small supply of towels are provided. Parking for the holiday cottages is available past the end of the cottages.
