Corby Wood Holiday Cottage
Corby Wood Holiday Cottage is snuggled between Boothferry and Valencourt. The large window is the original opening where the cart from the working horse was kept, which was reversed into the building. The other part of the cottage to the left of the window, is where “Corby Wood” lived in his stable, originally being a jumping pony from Ireland. When he came to England his name was “Skippy Blue”, but as there was already a pony registered in this name, he had to have his name changed to Corby Wood. However we just nicknamed him Skippy. In 1989, along with Boothferry and Valencourt, the building was converted to its present form as a holiday cottage.
Corby Wood holiday cottage is on 2 floors with double en-suite bedroom on the first floor, and twin bedroom downstairs. The large picture window which was the garage entrance affords a good light source, as does the kitchen and bedroom widows that catch the morning sunrise. The kitchen is fully fitted with washing machine, refrigerator, microwave oven, kettle and toaster. Cooking is with electric hob and fan assisted oven.
From the hallway, access is to the twin bedroom, shower with toilet, and to the right, the lounge and kitchen, with staircase to the first floor. Heating by electric night store, and wood burning stove.
This holiday cottage lends itself the phrase “Cosy Cottage” in every sense, with oak beams over the stove and ceilings. A colour television is provided to keep up to date with the latest events. Bed linen and a small supply of towels are provided.
Parking is available past the end of the cottages.
