Adagio Holiday Cottage
In times gone by, the building that is now Adagio holiday cottage was used to grind corn. Work horses would turn the stone grinding wheels that produced flour, which was used in traditional farm baking.
In later times, an engine replaced horse power. Still in place are the beams used to support the cogs and various bits of machinery that were used in the corn grinding process. A doorway from what is now Trevena Star allowed movement of the various materials to and from the grinding process. The bathroom in Adagio now replaces this connecting area.
Adagio holiday cottage is named after a particularly beautiful show jumping pony, which also retired here at Craven Garth.
This cottage is all ground floor, with spectacular views across the valley. Sunsets can be seen setting over what was “Blakey Junction” when Rosedale Ironstone railway was in use.
This spacious cottage opens into the lounge area, with colour television, and leads to a fully fitted kitchen diner.
The kitchen has a washing machine, refrigerator, microwave oven, kettle, toaster and crockery. Cooking is by electric hob, with hood, and fan assisted oven.
Also from the lounge, a short passageway leads to a twin bedroom, bathroom with toilet, a double bedroom, with en-suite and shower. Bed linen and some towelling are provided. Heating is by electric night store, with wood burning stove.
At the front is a grass area with bench, which is ideal for outside morning breakfasts or evening meals on hot summer days.
The parking area for this holiday cottage is just a few paces away at the end of the cottages.
